Amrita Rao's Interviews
"Men will always be men; they are always ready to mingle."
The bashful Amrita Rao is changing colours. From being the little girl lost in the woods on the sets of The Legend of Bhagat Singh, to wearing the prankster's hat and taking a bow every time she made a bakra of co-stars on the sets of Masti, the lovely Ms Rao has transformed from dreary to daring.
In spite of being a fairly new entrant into Bollywood, the gal has titivated her personality to face stiff star rivalry in the film industry. And the confidence sneaks in from the fact that she's worked with some of the best banners and shared screen space with the biggest in the industry even before she has reached the teething stage of her career.
In between giggles, guffaws, hoots and cackles, we get Amrita Rao break into a talkathon.
How did it feel playing a nagging wife Aanchal?
I play this peculiar woman who harasses her husband, who is painfully possessive and a nag. There's nothing serious in this film and it will be my first-time comedy, so I thoroughly enjoyed it.
What is the most mischievous thing you have done so far?
I have never been a prankster or a naughty girl at all; I can't remember any such incident. I have never violated rules, bunked classes, teased or ragged people. I have been a shy, sweet girl. You must be thinking I am such a sad girl, isn't it?
We hear that on the sets of Masti, you weren't so sweet after all
Yes, on the sets of Masti I made up for all the masti I haven't done so long. When so many youngsters get together, there has to be a lot of masti . On the sets, Vivek, Ritesh and Aftab made us all so comfortable. All we did was rag each other, pull each others legs and hide each others cell phones. I even ended up doing a bakra of these guys, as you witnessed on April Fool's day.
Shahid and you shared amazing on-screen chemistry in Ishq Vishq, but who is your favourite co-star?
I have been honoured to work with a brilliant actor like SRK in Main Hoon Na and then, on the other hand, Vivek was a total contrast, a real mastikhor . Apart from the on-screen chemistry, Shahid brings out the best performance in me. Zayed is a real darling, great fun to work with. After doing a small role in The Legend of Bhagat Singh, I worked with Ajay again on a completely different level in Masti, but even while doing Bhagat I was this petite little girl on a male-dominated set, but Ajay took the extra effort to make me feel comfortable.
After your first hit-film, Ishq Vishq, and then a meaty role in Main Hoon Na, weren't you apprehensive about being one of the many wives in Masti?
I wasnt apprehensive at all; it was such a fabulous script and all our roles were so well-etched out. Although Masti has eight characters, each of us has been positioned so beautifully; if we've done are job well, I'm sure each of us in our own way will stand out. For instance, In Ishq Vishq I wasn't the only girl sharing the frame with Shahid - there was Shenaz and a host of others - but my character (Payal) was scripted so well that she made a lasting impression.
And what's Amrita's dream-man like - anything close to her on-screen hubby?
I think I get different energies from different people. There are some people who bring out the best in me; there are some who get me bored stiff. Then there are some who charge me up, but there are few I get attracted to. I guess that's why I don't have a boyfriend. For me, it's important that my man is simple and unpretentious. I would like him to like me the way I am, instead of trying to change me, which is the first mistake two people make.
Will Amrita be a nag and over-demanding girl-friend/wife in real life, too?
I think I will give my boyfriend a lot of space, as long as I have an assurance and sense of security at the end of the day. I need that, and once I am convinced of it, I will be very cool. One thing you can't discount is the fact that men will always be men; they are always ready to mingle. So better watch out!
"It's very difficult to be a heroine"
How did films happen?
I was in college, which I did not complete because I started modeling. I did the perk Ad that got me noticed and filmmakers approached me. Ken Ghosh, Raj Kumar Santoshi had offered me films. The legend of Bhagat Singh released then there was one years gap in which we shot for Ishq vishk.
Any hesitation before the camera?
I had earlier done a lot of ads and I was perfectly fine in front of the camera. I think the difference between the modeling world and films is that one is without dialogues and you have to convey everything through your expressions and in a film you have to follow a character and behave like that character would behave. And you have to dance. I have not learnt dancing or acting but I had no problem dancing.
Where were you educated?
I studied in Sophiya College. I studied in Canossa convent. I was a student of psychology but did not complete my graduation.
How has Bollywood reacted to you?
Legend of Bhagat Singh fetched me some critical acclaim, people told me they remembered me from the film in that I attracted their attention though it was a small role-that was a very encouraging thing for me. Luckily film critics did not write me off or say that I needed to pack my bags. In fact I found they were watching me with interest. Ishq Vishk was a very good platform for me because I was playing my age, a college girl. It was also very beautifully promoted by Tips and Ken Ghosh. And I got noticed.
Have you identified what is it that you have that other newcomers don't that you are getting noticed?
There are lots of new girls who come in but to do a Hindi film heroine is fairly difficult- I was told that all the girls look like models not like characters they are playing. When we do auditions we find that someone looks good but cant dance or cant do something else. It's very difficult to be a heroine.
Any family opposition?
I had no family opposition. My modeling career was going well and films were a major step- it was entering into a more competitive world-no one compares models and says this one is better than that one but in films there is a lot of competition. My major ads were Close up, Pantene, Feeling, Bru, Perk Fairever, which was my first ad.
What are you being offered now?
Fortunately I am getting performance oriented scripts-the younger scriptwriters and directors hopefully will change the scene. I'm in Main hoon na-the Farah Khan film with Shahrukh Khan_I'm opposite Zayed and I play someone so different from Payal from Ishq Vishk who is a sweet girl while in Main hoon na I'm a complete tomboy-it's great contrast. And I've got Deewar with Amitabh Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna.
How is it working with a woman director?
Working with Farah is great-she is immensely creative and that shows in her work. I'm very proud to see a woman calling the shots. She has done a lot of homework you can see. We were to release the film in December but because of Shahrukh's being unwell the schedules went awry. We had a one-month schedule in Darjeeling, which went well. Farah saw me in the Bru
Commercial she had not seen my films so she auditioned me and the first thing she asked me was can you dance?
She auditioned me for my dance. Initially I was very skeptical about my dancing ability but when I saw people complimented me I thought I was okay.
How do you feel about the response you have got for Ishq vishk?
I'm feeling very happy with the response I have got for Ishq Vishk. Working with Ken Ghosh was a joyride and he makes newcomers very comfortable on the sets. You are not tense at all. We never felt we were working. Getting a part in a Shahrukh Khan film made me happy that I would get the backing of his name- and for someone who doesn't come from a film background it's great thing.
How much does a director matter to you?
The director guides you but you have to put your own input to- when I was doing Payal _I found she was a lot like me but still I kept consulting with Ken whether I was getting it right.
When would you refuse a role?
When there are too many characters and your role is tiny then you would get lost so I might refuse such a role or the script may be weak sometimes a set up may be good so you accept a role. I would be influenced by the director by my co-stars and the script-the comfort level with your co-stars matters a lot. You should be able to discuss your script with your co-star you should have that much rapport.
Are you a film buff and do you take a role home?
I do homework when I get my scripts. I watch films but not any and every film. I used to see films on the video.
Who do you admire in Bollywood?
I admire Aamir Khan-everyone likes him old and young- and any role he plays he does to perfection. He has a fantastic fan following. I like Shabana Azmi and Dipti Naval. I'd like to work with Ram Gopal Varma, John Mathews Sanjay Leela Bhansali-he has an eye for detail, Ken Ghosh-I'd love to work with him.

Answering fan mail, chatting with friends and updating her site keeps this actress busy when she logs on
Claim to fame:
Model and actress. Has three films to her credit, Ab Ke Baras, Legend of Bhagat
Singh and Ishq Vishk.
How Net savvy are you? What would you rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10?
I am quite Net savvy. I usually log on once in a week, check my email, my site and then I reply to my fan mail. Though, when I am feeling lazy, I get my sister to check my email for me.
How did you hooked onto the Net?
I began surfing in 1999. We had a connection where one could surf the Net via the TV. But that flopped and ever since I've been using my PC at home. I use it mostly to chat with my cousins abroad now or email them.
What did you use the Net recently for?
Recently, I updated my site with new pictures. I got the site as a gift from my father and uncle who made it when my first movie was released. I quite love the emails that I get. Especially when I have lawyers and other professionals writing in to me!
Your idea of a perfect Web site?
My site! I think it has everything I would need. Though I would like to put in more movie clips, update it everyday with information about my shoots and other assignments that I am doing.
Ever been ego-surfing?
Yes, I do that quite often. And I think it's a lot of fun. The only thing I sometimes realise is how negative people can be, without even knowing you. That is weird!
What would you like to learn to do on the Net?
I'd love to download music more often. But I think, this whole concept of chatting with strangers and not knowing who they are fascinates me. I also wonder would someone ever believe me if I told them that I was Amrita Rao.They would probably turn around and say, "And, I am Madhuri Dixit."
What do you like most about the Internet?
Everyone is so easily accessible. I am in touch with fans and can get feedback about my film almost immediately!
What do you hate about the Internet?
It's slow sometimes and also so addictive.
One celebrity you would like to chat online with?
Aamir Khan. He's the best actor we have around and I simply would love to talk to him.
If the Internet didn't exist, you would be...
A bit isolated.
Amrita Rao climbs the showbiz ladder
Amrita Rao is in demand. With Ishq Vishk being dubbed the first hit of 2003, Amrita's happiness knows no bounds. After bagging Shah Rukh's home production Main Hoon Na opposite Zayed Khan, Amrita has also landed a role in Gaurang Doshi's Deewar opposite Akshaye Khanna. Though major films are happening for this pretty young starlet, Amrita says success hasn't gone to her head. She intends to keep her feet on the ground. Here's more on the petite beauty.
Ishq Vishk is the first hit of 2003.
Did you expect it to do so well?
The response to Ishq Vishk has been tremendous. Yeah, I was quite sure of the film from the start. The film was in the making for a while but it was worth it. There were changes in the script but once it was ready we all were positive about it. Ken had done his homework very well. He went through a lot of initial tension but once we started filming he was very confident. He was very calm on the sets unlike other directors who are often hyper and shout while shooting. We were so relaxed that it was like having a picnic on the sets even though so much work was being accomplished. All credit for the film goes to Ken for handling the young cast so well. Even on the outdoor location to South Africa, we were not tense. We went shopping and even managed to catch three films! It was hard work but we partied too. There was a certain positive vibe about Ishq Vishk from the beginning.
Do you think teen films are here to stay?
Gone are those days when you saw a thirty-year-old hero coming back from college mouthing lines like gajar ka halwa kahan hai'. Now people are too smart to accept that. They want actors who look the age of the characters. Now that Ishq Vishk has picked up, I am sure like the Raaz wave, teen films too will catch on. I am sure script writers are already penning down teen ideas.
What do you think of Ajay as an actor and person?
I was really shy on the sets and wouldn't talk to anyone. I would simply listen to people. I know its clich when newcomers say made me feel comfortable' but it's true. Ajay would include me in conversations and make me feel at ease. He is really casual and doesn't throw attitude. He is a down-to-earth and sweet person.
Are you happy with the decision of moving from modeling to acting?
Yeah, very much. I knew I could always try and act. I was not so presumptuous as to say I am a natural actress. Nor had I taken any acting and dancing classes. I didn't come from a film background so there was no indication that I would become an actress. But I had confidence that I could act. Actually, modeling happened accidentally and I was noticed in some ads by filmmakers.
Do you view acting differently today?
When you are modeling no one says the CLOSE-UP model is better than the Fairever model but in films comparisons are inevitable. Either they put you on top or pull you down so badly that you end up in tears. I think I have been fortunate. As an actress I have gained more confidence in front of the camera. I keep discovering new dimensions to myself. Already I've done such contrasting roles. Even I am surprised by my abilities!
What other films do you have on hand?
I've signed Gaurang Doshi's Deewar directed by Milan Luthria co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna paired opposite me. I am playing an indian girl who is a Pakistani Citizen in the film. I also have Farah Khan's directorial debut Main Hoon Na with Shah Rukh and Zayed Khan. I am grateful to have films that showcase me invariety of roles.
TAMARIND WOMAN
Amrita Rao proved her immense talent in a brief role as Bhagat Singh's fiance in "The Legend Of Bhagat Singh". And now, having bagged big films like "Main Hoon Na" and "Deewar", Amrita emphasizes that she's here to make it big, As "Ishq Vishq" and the audience cover her.
"Big surprises come in small packages"- the ideal case in point could well be Bollywood's littlest baby "new entrant Amrita Rao. Beginning as a model whose face became synonymous with your morning cuppa' coffee in the Bru commercial, further sweetened with the Cadbury's Perk commercials, this petite and talented girl is one of the most promising newcomers on the scene today.
Despite the initial hiccups, Amrita has been lucky in bagging a couple of big films in her kitty. Choreographer Farah Khan signed her for her directorial debut, "Main Hoon Na", produced by buddy Shah Rukh Khan with Zayed Khan and Sunil Shetty, besides King Khan himself. And Gaurang Doshi chose her over the sensational Bipasha Basu in his next, "Deewar" Let's Bring Our Heroes Home, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sunjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna, under the directorial baton of Milan Luthria. "Farah Khan knew me as the Bru model. But she signed me on after having seen me in "The Legend Of Bhagat Singh". The first thing that Farah asked was about my dancing abilities and only confirmed me after an audition and screen test. Farah, my mother and myself then met with Shah Rukh, after which everything was finalised. Farah was pleased that I didn't have a spate of flops behind me. Milan Luthria, had also seen "The Legend of Bhagat Singh". That's how he signed me for "Deewar"," she sums up her conquests.
It must still have been a very trying and restless phase, waiting for the career to take off. "The Legend... didn't hit the bull's eye at the box office, and "Ishq Vishq" did take some time to complete and hit the marquee. Not in the least discouraged or perturbed by the initial hurdles in her career, Amrita asserts, "It wasn't a stressful period even though my first film was soon forgotten and I only had a small role in the second. What mattered most is that I was appreciated for my performances. I wasn't sitting at home waiting for offers to come my way. We started work on "Ishq Vishq" soon. I still have a long way to go and I'm in no hurry at all. Right now, I only want to concentrate on roles of my age. I'm in no hurry to jump into the senior character bracket so early in my career, just to prove that I'm doing something different, nor do I want to experiment with different images and land up nowhere. Na idhar ki, na udhar ki..."
When Hrishitaa Bhatt signed 'Asoka' with Shah Rukh, she was not prepared for the shock that awaited her on the film's release. Her role was Chopped and scenes changed, making her look like a glorified extra in the historical saga. With Zayed's debut film failing, rumours are rife that his role in 'Main Hoon Na' is being slashed drastically, which could result in Amrita's corresponding role too being cut. "From what I've seen of the film and the scenes that I have done with him, Zayed will really stand out as a good actor," she defends her co-star. "The role seems to have been written for him and he's really done justice to the character." But that doesn't stop the producer Khan from exercising control to salvage his film, if need be. Is she prepared for that eventuality? "That depends on a lot of factors. At the cost of sounding immodest, mine is a good role with a good number of scenes and most of Zayed's and my together scenes are with Shah Rukh." I bring up the question of Shah Rukh's interference in the name if involvement, whilst making the film. It's a known fact that each time an actor produces a film, he calls the shots, firing the gun from his director buddy's shoulders." In staunch defense, Amrita avers, "Despite being the producer, Shah Rukh has never interfered in the directorial aspect of the film. Farah always called the shots and Shah Rukh's been a perfect actor and producer. He's never told Farah what to do and how to do it, an important fact that most actor-producers should acknowledge. You may be the best of friends with your director, but you must let the director do his job. It's important that one maintains a balance between work and friendship. It's not very often that newcomers get scripts and opportunities like these. I'm very excited to be acting with Shah Rukh in his own production." That speaks a lot for the faith Amrita has in her producer, who's had the reputation of being ruthless and manipulative, when it comes to his films. Amrita adds, "Of what we've shot so far, we've stuck to the script and no alterations whatsoever have been made on the sets or on the eve of the shooting. We're all working as a team and the end-product is what matters to us all."With Shah Rukh's back surgery, immediate shooting plans seem to have gone for a toss. According to reliable sources, after his back treatment, Shah Rukh's prioritised his own production, the Aziz Mirza directed "chalte Chalte" and Karan Johar's "Kal Ho Na Ho" pushing "Main Hoon Na" to the bottom of the list. Is she disappointed by the strange twist of fate? "I'm not disappointed," says Amrita, dismissing all such notions straightaway. "Initially "Main Hoon Na" was scheduled to release this December, but now it looks like it might get a little delayed. But, these things keep happening. Everything is so precarious in the film industry. It's not as if Shah Rukh's intentionally delaying the film. It's a genuine problem and it was important for him to get his back operated upon. And, adequate rest after surgery is as important a part of the treatment, so that he regains complete fitness. Shah Rukh is so involved in his work that he doesn't really pay much attention to anything else. I genuinely wish he takes proper care this time and recovers fully before commencing his work," she ended, sounding really sincere.
One news that really shocked me was that the dainty Ms. Rao was reportedly seeing her "Deewar"producer, Gaurang Doshi. So much so that Gaurang chose her over the more hot-n-happening Bipasha Basu. "That is ridiculous!" she bursts out in loud laugher. The rumour that I'm seeing Gaurang is really very stupid. I've barely met him enough to even know him." Well, if that's what she says, but apparently Gaurang, too, is so smitten by her that he changed the script at her behest. The petite Ms.Rao wields some power to have things her way, I remark with unmistakable sarcasm. "Imagine Gaurang and Milan making changes in the script at my behest!" She laughs as if it's some joke. "Do you really think so?" wonders Amrita, still amused by the controversy. "Yes, there might have been some changes in the script. But I don't think they'll make changes to accommodate me in the film when they have actors like Amitji, Sunjay and Akshaye, who're capable of carrying the film single-handedly. It's a very serious subject, and my presence in the film brings in some of the lighter moments. Increasing my role will mean losing the essence of the subject, which I'm sure you'll agree, they can't afford to. They're all established names, whereas I'm just a newcomer. They don't need me, I need them. It's an honour that they feel that I'm capable of delivering the goods and so have chosen me for it. I have gone through the script, and made sure that I have a decent role," clarifies Amrita, refuting allegations of her being high-handed and demanding at so early a stage in her career. "I know that I'll certainly have a couple of songs and a good number of important scenes in the film, and my prime objective is to do complete justice to the character. Being in the company of such great talents will obviously inspire and motivate me to try and rise to their level of excellence. It's a great opportunity for a newcomer to prove herself. One can't always get films revolving around you as the protagonist. It's important for any actor to make the most of the available opportunities and justify your presence therein. With "Deewar" I'm not thinking about how long my role will eventually turn out on the screen. It's really very stupid to even think that I can convince the makers to change scripts. I can't stop laughing at it."
After the laughter dies completely, and the atmosphere is sober once again, we continue. If it's not Gaurang, then who is the lucky man in her life? "There's no man in my life," she says in a flat tone, and I was anticipating this response. Yawn! Tell me another one! "Basically, I've always been shy, and I don't socialise a lot either. I spend most of my spare time at home. My parents are really very strict and have set a 9:00 p.m. deadline for me. So I don't venture anywhere out after that, unless I'm working. My parents know exactly what I am doing and where I am. I'm in no hurry for anything in life. I'm not under any pressure to have a boyfriend just to prove something isn't wrong with me. That a very ridiculous notion. There's a proper time for every thing, and right now my career is of prime importance. Let me work towards realizing that, other things can wait. If Mr. Right has to come, he will come, at the right time." But, if her parents were that strict, how did they react when she told them of her decision to model and then act in films? "Modeling happened accidentally, but very well. My dad was zapped. My mother's always been my constant pillar of support, accompanying me everywhere, from meetings to auditions to shoots etc. My family has always supported me in whatever I've chosen to do. So, when film offers came, it was my decision if I really wanted to take the plunge or not. Today, I'm here because I really want to make it big, to become successful as an actress. At the end of the day, I don't want to be known as a flop actress. My prime contention was that if I do films, I wouldn't want people to say woh to ek flop actress hai which worries me. In films, you'll either be praised to the skies, or criticised and pulled down really badly if you're not good enough. It's not easy to become an actress. I would prefer to be known as a good actress instead of a good looker or dancer. I'd rather concentrate on good work and do a couple of films at a time. It's not the money that matters, coz if it did, then I could have easily signed a handful of films down south. But as I said, I'm in no hurry."
'I AM BORN TO BE AN ACTRESS!'
Amrita Rao is like a whiff of fresh air in an industry full of girls who are ready to shed their clothes at the slightest provocation! But don't let her petite frame and cute looks fool you! Hiding within is a strong willed woman who is determined to carve a niche for herself in bollywood. And yes, this is also a reference to her physical strength. I catch her injured costar, Vivek Oberoi, leaning on her for physical support during a shoot of Masti!
You must be feeling like a star after the success of Ishq Vishq!
(Laughs) It felt nice being part of a film that became popular. But I don't think I have changed or developed any attitude. Even as a model I have worked with good ad filmmakers, endorsed the best of brands and travelled the world over. If I had to develop airs it would have happened long back. I always feel that I have not achieved anything. There is so much more to do. I think there are a lot of people in the industry who appreciate me the way I am. Gone are the days when people tolerated an actor's tantrums. These things don't get you anywhere.
Are you like Payal in real life?
So far, I relate to her the most. She has all the values that I would like to have. I think I am very much like her. A lot of fans tell me that the name Payal suits me more than Amrita. They have even suggested that I change my name (laughs).
Will you be comfortable exposing on screen?
I don't think I would be comfortable. (Laughs). I wil not do it even if the script demands it. After Ishq Vishq, I got a lot of fan mail from guys telling me they like me the way I am. They also added that they would be very disappointed if I ever exposed in future and that I would lose my fan following.
A lot of girls in the past have said that they will never expose but ultimately resorted to it!
I'll try my best not to but I don't know what is in store for me in the future. Maybe in a few years my way of thinking might change. As an actor I also realize that you need to shed your inhibitions on screen. You may have to do certain things to make the scene look more real. But as of today I know I will not be happy with the idea of exposing. I know I don't even need to do anything like that today.
How does it feel dancing to Farah Khan's tune in Main Hoon Na?
I have a good role in it. I am excited. People will find it to be a complete contrast to Payal of Ishq Vishq. I remember getting a lot of fan mail after 'Ishq Vishq' with people saying that they hoped I could dance too. Being a choreographer, Farah has added a lot of dance sequences. So my fans will see me dancing in the film. I hope I surprise them pleasantly.
Are you comfortable with dancing?
Farah was very confident that I would dance well although I don't consider myself an extraordinary dancer. I give more importance to acting rather than to a good body or dancing. All this is masala and so much importance is given to it only in Hindi films. I want people to remember me for my acting talent (smiles).
Despite being a newcomer you have already worked with some of the senior actors!
I am lucky to get these films at this stage of my career. The script of Main Hoon Na is such that Zayed and me have all our scenes with Shah Rukh Khan. After working with Shah Rukh, I realized the powerful aura and charisma he has about him that has helped him be on top for 12 years. I have grown up watching his films and never thought I would be working with him some day. I consider myself lucky to be working with experienced and senior actors. It enhances my performance.
What prompted you to do a miniscule role in 'Deewar-Let's Bring Our Heroes Home'?
I want to make my look as interesting as possible in every film. I am playing a indian girl who is a Pakistani Citizen in Deewar. It is a male dominated film. It's a good film and I want to be part of it. I have a small role but if people like me in it and remember me then I will be satisfied. The director, Milan Luthria, saw me in LOB and was very keen that I do his film. It is also fun working opposite Akshaye Khanna. He's an excellent actor.
Looks like you also enjoyed seducing him in the romantic number!
(Laughs) It is a hot song but both Akshaye and I were freezing during the shoot. Besides the shower, there were five air blowers around us. And with 50 people looking on, the focus was on getting it right rather than how it felt to be so close to Akshaye. So it's not exactly like I had a ball shooting it.
Will you ever play a negative character?
I don't want to be slotted as the cute girl. Of course, I cannot start experimenting right now. Once people start recognizing me as a good actor then it would excite them to see me playing a variety of characters.
What are you doing in Masti?
It is a fun film. This is my first attempt at comedy so I'm excited about it. It is very satisfying to watch people laugh at your on-screen histrionics. I remember Ken, Shahid, and me sneaking into theatres to watch people's reactions to Ishq Vishq.
Do you have hang-ups about approaching people for work?
I have never knocked on people's doors for work. If you chase filmmakers they run away from you and if you don't they run after you.
Any unpleasant experiences here?
I have realized that there are different classes of people in the industry. I am dealing with people who are dealing with big money and are thorough professionals. I don't think they would put their money at stake for a bit of pleasure. I have heard horror stories about Bollywood but always thought they were rumours until I came across some sleazy guys. I was on a shoot once and they were shooting somewhere close by. They told me how they could put me on to some unheard of filmmaker. That is when I realized how these types dupe innocent girls, who are desperate for a break in films. Of course, I just ignored them.
Do you want to act all your life?
It took me almost two years to decide whether I wanted to join films. Now that I am here, it feels nice to be recognized as a face and name. Work is worship for me. If I give a wrong shot I think about it for days. I want to be an actress all my life. I feel I was born to be an actress. (smiles)!
